Le French May at HKU: Geoffroy Couteau & The RTHK Quartet
To bring arts and culture to a wider audience, Le French May and the School of Humanities of the University of Hong Kong have organised a community outreach programme featuring French pianist and rising star Geoffroy Couteau, who will perform with The RTHK Quartet for a unique presentation of intercultural music.
Specialising in Brahms, Geoffroy Couteau graduated with first class honours from the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris, and completed his performance programme under the likes of Michel Béroff and Marie-Françoise Bucquet. As well as performing in France he has played in Thailand with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and in the National Arts Theatre in Rio de Janeiro, and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. In 2005 he won the International Brahms Competition for his performance of the Third Sonata Op. 5, and received four stars from Le Monde de la Musique for his first recorded works.
