Education Seminar Series (5), Faculty of Education, HKU: “When Should I Send My Child Abroad?” by Professor Kai Ming Cheng

The Faculty of Education, in support of the University's drive to strengthen knowledge exchange, one of the three strategic themes of the University's Strategic Development, takes the initiative in knowledge exchange with the public by organizing a series of education seminars for parents. The past seminars on the subjects taught in school nowadays including Mathematics, English, Liberal Studies and Information and Technology Education received enthusiastic response. Our Faculty will be organizing the fifth seminar "When Should I Send My Child Abroad" in June 2011.
In the seminar, the following issues will be discussed:

Should I send my children to study abroad?What are the pros and cons?

When would be the best time to send my child for overseas study?

How would overseas study indeed benefit my child?

Should I send my child to an international school?
Professor Kai Ming Cheng is Senior Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and Chair Professor in the Faculty of Education, HKU. As a world-renowned educator, Professor Cheng's research interests include education policy, higher education reform and education in China. He has often been the consultants of worldwide organizations such as the World Bank, OCED, Asian Development Bank, UNESCO and UNICEF. He was a Visiting Professor of Harvard University during 1996-2006.
