Concert series of HKU Summer Institute in the Arts and Humanities 2011
In collaboration with the Hell Hot! Music Festival, the HKU Faculty of Arts is offering a series of concerts to the HKU community as part of its Summer Institute in the Arts and Humanities 2011.
Ensemble Offspring - Australia's Hottest New Music Ensemble
Ensemble Offspring is a dynamic arts company from Australia specialising in the presentation of innovative new music. Often described as the national new music ensemble, they will perform Ricetson's Fractured Again "Suite" with the glass harmonica - a type of musical instrument that uses a series of glass bowls or goblets graduated in size to produce musical tones.

Percussion Parallels - Louis Siu and Vicky Shin Hell Hot Commission
Born in Hong Kong, Louis Siu is the recipient of numerous awards, including finalist-3rd place at the 2nd International Timpani Competition of Lyon, and First prize in the Australian Percussion Eisteddfod. Vicky Shin studied at the Schullich School of Music at McGill University in Canada, and has worked with ensembles throughout Asia, North America and Europe.

New American Classics
Opus Two performs Bernstein, Schoenfield & Hell Hot Commission
Opus Two has been internationally recognized for its "divine phrases, impelling rhythm, elastic ensemble and stunning sounds," as well as its commitment to expanding the violin - piano duo repertoire. Comprised of award-winning musicians violinist William Terwilliger and pianist Andrew Cooperstock, the duo is hailed for its "unanimity of style and spirit, exemplary balance and close rapport."
