The study of Baduanjin Qigong in the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS): First Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) in Hong Kong
There is a long history in treatment of chronic fatigue using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). From September 2011 to March 2012, the Centre on Behavioral Health the University of Hong Kong will conduct the first randomized controlled trial on Baduanjin Qigong and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which was funded by Hospital Authority. This study aims to assess the effect of the Baduanjin Qigong on physiological, psychological well-being and quality of life for adult CFS patients. Assistant Professor Ng Siu Man, the principle investigator and associate director of the Centre on Behavioral Health HKU will describe the study design and explain the effect of Baduanjin Qigong on the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in details. There will also be Qigong demonstration to participants.
