HKU Centenary Exhibition “HKU Memories from the Archives” Opening Ceremony

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will hold an opening ceremony of the exhibition on "HKU Memories from the Archives" tomorrow (December 6) at the University Museum and Art Gallery.
The exhibition, which is part of the University's Centenary celebration activities, will introduce the development of the University from its founding in 1911 to the present day through the collections of the University Archives.
HKU Council Chairman Dr Leong Che-hung, HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui and Chairman of the Azalea (1972) Endowment Fund Management Board Mr Wong Kai-man will officiate at the ceremony.
From 7 December 2011 to 18 March 2012, the display of over 100 archival records and artefacts will be open to the public. Many of the items are shown for the first time. The rare items include the Mace, silver inkstand and ceremonial trowels as well as the 1912 silver model of the Main Building and its original architectural drawings given to Governor Sir Frederick Lugard in 1916.
