Presidents Summit: "East Meets West: Synergy, Competition or Collaboration"
The "Presidents Summit - East Meets West" will be held at the most historic building - Main Building, of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) on Dec 18, 2011 (Sunday).
About 70 university presidents around the world will attend the Presidents Summit, including presidents from Hong Kong universities, Mainland universities (e.g. Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University) and Oversea universities (e.g. The University of British Columbia, The University of Chicago, King's College London) to share their views of development of higher education.

HKU to hold Centenary Gala Dinner
An evening to share with HKU Community members and Hong Kong people
The University of Hong Kong is holding a gala dinner this Sunday (December 18) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre as a part of the University's Centenary celebration activities. Over 5,000 guests including alumni, staff and students will join this memorable event
The dinner will be held in the Grand Hall and Foyer at the New Wing, and Convention Hall and Foyer at the Old Wing with a total of 365 tables of guests.
Media are invited to cover the Gala Dinner Opening Ceremony and photo sessions at New Wing lobby.

HKU and University of Cambridge Joint Recruitment Scheme of Bachelors Degree Programmes in Engineering in Mainland China
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the University of Cambridge (Cambridge) will have a joint press conference on December 19 (Monday) and December 20 (Tuesday) in Beijing and Shanghai respectively.
This joint press conference aims to introduce a new collaboration agreement between the two universities, to jointly recruit academically outstanding students from Mainland China into Bachelors degree programmes in Engineering.
Prof David Cardwell from the University of Cambridge and Prof John Spinks, Senior Advisor to Vice-Chancellor and Director of Undergraduate Admissions and International Student Exchange from HKU will give a detailed account of the scheme at the conference.
