Sam Hui at HKU - Brighten Me with Virtues: Sam Hui's World

Mr Sam Hui, an HKU graduate (1971) and the legendary pop star of Hong Kong music scene today (Feb 8) revisited his alma mater for the "Brighten Me with Virtues: Sam Hui's World" event, organised by the General Education Unit of the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

In a dialogue with Dr C H Ng, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology and Dr Wong Chi Chung, Assistant Director, General Education Unit, Sam shared his observations about the changes of Hong Kong society and culture, his music career and recalled his fond memories in HKU, such as his hall life in Ricci Hall.

Apart from performing classic Cantonese and English songs with the guitar, Sam was joined by the "Brighten Me with Virtues Choir" to sing the song of which Sam is the composer. The song "Brighten Me with Virtues" was dedicated to HKU for its centenary celebrations. It was first performed at the Centenary Gala Dinner on Dec 18, 2011.
