- How can we teach the kids without having a sore throat?
- Is it the best way to teach your kids in a loud voice?
- Can we teach the kids with less strength?

Evening concert: Tracing Schnittke with Euna Kim (violin) and Evelyn Chang (piano)
One of the most celebrated composers in the 20th century, Alfred Schnittke favoured violin in many of his works. The tone quality of the instrument enabled him to express himself, as he felt it resembled the human voice. His music most memorably records the raw emotions of human life.
Notably influenced by J.S. Bach and Shostakovich during his early years, Schnittke's compositional language is uniquely polystylistic, an expression where he juxtaposed and combined music of various styles past and present. In this recital, violinist Euna Kim and pianist Evelyn Chang bring together works by the three composers, showcasing the compositional and musical ties across the centuries.

Global Citizenship Public Lecture: Global Free Expression in the Internet Age Challenges and Opportunities
We are all neighbours now. Four billion people are connected by the internet or mobile phones. The boundaries of state control over the flow of information and ideas are more permeable, although not a few states resist this. What should be the norms for freedom of expression in such a transformed world? What are the legitimate limits to free speech? Professor Garton Ash presents a major Oxford University research project on this subject (freespeechdebate.com) and discusses its implications for Asia and the West.
Speaker: Professor Timothy Garton-Ash, Professor of European Studies, University of Oxford
