The Sixth Inauguration of Endowed Professorships at HKU

The Sixth Inauguration of Endowed Professorships will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). The ceremony will be officiated by HKU Council Chairman Dr the Honourable Leong Che-Hung, and presided by HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui. Twelve Endowed Professorships will be established (For the list of Endowed Professorships and Donors, please click here).
An "Endowed Professorship" is one of the most significant awards bestowed upon eminent academics within the University of Hong Kong. The generous donation will become a perpetual endowment in a designated discipline, as the Endowed Professor upholds a proud tradition of excellence. A total of 66 Endowed Professorships have been established at HKU since 2005.
An Advisory Committee ensures the appointments to the Endowed Professorships are made in accordance with established University procedures. The Committee members include Dr Raymond Ch'ien (Chairman), Professor Kai-Ming Cheng, Dr York Liao, Professor Felice Lieh-Mak and Ms Mary Ma.
