HKU Faculty of Engineering holds inaugural Engineering Centenary Distinguished Lecture

The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) held today (May 2) the inaugural Engineering Centenary Distinguished Lecture entitled "Hong Kong's Role in the Development of PRD in China's 12th Five-Year Plan" delivered by Dr Victor Fung Kwok-king, GBM, GBS, CBE, OBE.
At the lecture, Dr Fung shared his thoughts and insights on the strengths and challenges of Hong Kong, the positioning of Hong Kong in the Economic Development of GPRD, and measures to be adopted to reinforce Hong Kong's positioning.
HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui was the officiating guest at the lecture. The lecture was sponsored by Paul Y. Engineering Group Limited.
"As one of the founding faculties of the University of Hong Kong in 1911, the Faculty of Engineering has been planning and celebrating its centenary with a series of commemorative events," said HKU Dean of Engineering Professor L G Tham.
"The 100th anniversary is a time when we can reflect on our past, rejoice on our achievements, and look ahead to the future," he added.
