HKU to announce collaboration with Mongolia

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will hold an Award Presentation Ceremony on May 22 (Tuesday) to two student winners of a Mongolian Essay Competition. On the occasion, collaboration between Mongolian Consulate and the University of Hong Kong will be announced and Mongolian Culture will be showcased.
The competition was organized to raise awareness about Mongolia amongst the student community at HKU. The winners will be awarded round trip air tickets to Mongolia donated by the Mongolian Airlines.
With its rich resources and increasing interest of foreign direct investment, Mongolia is fast becoming an important emerging economy. Recently six Mongolian companies have been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. In addition, direct flight connections between Hong Kong and Ulan Bataar have started for more than six months. HKU, as Asia's leading international university, has agreed to set up a collaborative agreement with universities in Mongolia and the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to offer opportunities to Mongolian students to study at HKU. This is the first deep collaboration between a university in Hong Kong and Mongolia brokered by the Mongolian Consulate-General.
HKU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lap-Chee Tsui will attend the ceremony and the Mongolian Consul-General, Mr. Yadmaa Ariunbold will be the Guest of Honour.
Mongolian culture including Mongolian snacks of Mongolian dairy products, Mongolian milk tea etc. will be showcased at the ceremony. Mongolian Consul-General Mr. Yadmaa Ariunbold will introduce Mongolian culture, religion, economy, foreign policy and education.
