HKU to present Honorary University Fellowships to nine distinguished individuals
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will hold a ceremony on October 4 (Thursday) to present Honorary University Fellowships to nine distinguished individuals this year, in recognition of their contributions to the University and to the community.
They are:

At the ceremony, HKU Pro-Chancellor Dr the Honourable David Kwok Po Li will present the Honorary University Fellowships to the above persons.

Public lecture: U.S. - Asia Relations: The Next Four Years
Presented by the Department of Politics and Public Administration
The speaker Professor Michel E. Brown is the Dean of the Elliott School of International Affairs and Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at The George Washington University. Before coming to GW, Dean Brown held senior positions at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. He was Co-Editor of International Security, the leading academic journal in the security studies field, for twelve years.

HKU Faculty of Engineering to hold Engineering Centenary Distinguished Lecture
The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) will hold its Fourth Engineering Centenary Distinguished Lecture on October 5, 2012. The lecture entitled “How we are where we are today” will be delivered by Ir Blake, Ronald James GBS, OBE, JP.
As former Chief Executive Officer of Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation and Secretary of Works of Hong Kong Government, Ir Blake will provide a personal overview of Hong Kong during the past fifty years and give insights into the growth of Infrastructure that stands today as one of the Territories fundamental achievements. How this success might be further taken forward, by those who would include many from the University of Hong Kong, will also be suggested towards the end of the presentation.
Professor Norman Tien, Dean of Engineering will officiate at the lecture and the newly elected Legislative Councillor, Ir. Lo Wai Kwok will be the facilitator for the Q&A Session. The lecture is sponsored by Gammon Construction Limited.
