Celestial Street Dance at HKU

The screenplay of the highest grossing local film in Taiwan this year, Din Tao: Leader of the Parade, is adopted from the story of Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Arts Troupe. The traditional Taiwanese folk drum troupe will perform street dance with a celestial twist at the University of Hong Kong on November 15 (Thursday).
Troupe members will be dancing in their colorful face-painting and costumes representing various Gods' persona, aptly combining an age-old folk tradition with modern art form. A group of HKU student dancers is joining the carnival with street dance groups in the territory: CraXy Dimensions, Asylum Crew, Hong Kong MJ Michael Chan Dance Company, Zeekers Danz Production and Suen Chi Sun Hall Dance Team of HKU will participate in this dance-off! A performance not to be missed!
The event is part of the activities of Taiwan Culture Festival 2012 and is organized by Kwang Hwa Information and Culture Center and co-organized by HKU’s General Education Unit.
