HKU Graduate School holds Award Presentation Ceremony

A total of 52 outstanding research postgraduate students received various academic awards today (December 12) at the Award Presentation Ceremony of the Graduate School of the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui; HKU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Dean of Graduate School Professor Paul Tam; Mr. Patrick Poon, Member of Board of Directors of HKU Foundation; and HKU Associate Dean of Graduate School Professor Nirmala Rao officiated at the ceremony.
Recipients of the awards are selected based on the quality of their thesis and academic performance. They included six students for the Li Ka Shing Prize, 10 students for the Awards for Outstanding Research Postgraduate Student, and 36 students for the University Postgraduate Fellowships.
In addition, 44 postgraduate students received external prizes including the Croucher Foundation Fellowships/Scholarships, Doris Zimmern HKU-Cambridge Hughes Hall Scholarships, RGC-Fulbright Hong Kong Dissertation Research Programme Fellowships, Hong Kong PhD Fellowships and Johnson & Johnson Asia Outstanding Graduate Thesis Award in Bio-tech.
