“United We Run” - HKU Team celebrates good results in Marathon

Good results were recorded for the HKU Team in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon today (February 24).
Alumnae Ms Rachel Sproston was the champion in Half Marathon (Women's Master 1), Dr Angela Leung was the first runner-up in Full Marathon (Women's Master 2). Medical student Ms Yu Wing-hay was the first runner-up in Women’s Overall and Women’s Senior respectively in the 10km Challenge race.
HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui represented HKU in the Leaders Cup. He ran with HKU Council Chairman Dr Leong Che-hung; Council members Mr Ben Hung, Hong Kong Standard Chartered Bank Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, and Dr Christopher Cheng, to accompany HKU Team members to the final destiny at the Victoria Park.
This year, over 3,000 HKU staff, students and alumni joined the HKU Marathon Team, which was established in 2006 under the theme of “United We Run!” to encourage HKU family members to participate in the sport of running.
