The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Intel Corporation will jointly hold the “INNOVATIASIA: AI EVERYWHERE Robotics Esports Invitational 2024 (GBA)” competition on August 17 (Saturday).
The competition is divided into three major tournaments, namely “Sea, Land and Air”, including the “Underwater Robot Sumo Tournament”, “Robot 3×3 Rugby Tournament” and “Drone Dance Competition”, attracting a total of 16 teams from different secondary schools, with one team from Vietnam coming specifically to Hong Kong for the competition.
The event is fully supported by Cyberport as one of the key programmes of its “Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum 2024”. Participating teams will compete in different rounds of matches according to the themes, testing their abilities in logical thinking, programming, innovation, teamwork, communication, etc. The winning teams will be awarded prizes and have the opportunity to visit Intel’s Greater Bay Area Innovation Center.
HKU is committed to creating an open environment that fosters technological innovation and educational excellence. By promoting interactive STEAM education and AI application through this competition, HKU seeks to inspire students’ interest in advanced technology, develop their creativity and problem-solving skills in today’s digital world, and nurture the next generation of proactive and enthusiastic learners.
