The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will hold the Opening Ceremony of its newly-established School of Computing and Data Science on October 24 (Thursday). The new School will advance education and research across the fields of computing and data science, artificial intelligence (AI), statistical decision sciences, fintech, and actuarial science.
Professor Dong SUN, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR Government; and Professor Xiang ZHANG, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKU, will officiate at the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, distinguished speakers including Professor Shing-tung YAU, Dean of Qiuzhen College at Tsinghua University, will deliver keynote address on topics related to the development of AI.
Members of the media are cordially invited to attend the event, and they are kindly requested to stay in the designated area throughout the ceremony.
