HKU Graduate School Award Presentation Ceremony

A total of 50 postgraduate students of various disciplines will receive awards this Wednesday (December 5) at the Award Presentation Ceremony of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) Graduate School. The recipients are selected based on the quality of their thesis and academic performance.
The award recipients include 6 students for the Li Ka Shing Prize (2005-2006), 10 students for the Awards for Outstanding Research Postgraduate Student (2005-2006), 30 students for the University Postgraduate Fellowships (2007-2008), and 4 students for the Croucher Foundation's studentship and scholarship (2007-2008).
To further encourage academic research, starting from this year, the Li Ka Shing Prize will be awarded every year to 6 postgraduate degree graduates. Prizes will be awarded to 1 MPhil graduate and 2 PhD graduates of each of the two broad groups of "arts and humanities" and "science and engineering". Established in 1990 by a generous donation from Dr Li Ka Shing, the Prize was previously awarded every two years to 4 postgraduate graduates.
