25 Jul 2008
Over 220 secondary school students from Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas gathered in Hong Kong this summer to attend a two-week programme guided by 21 students from Harvard, Yale and Cambridge universities.
They are attending the Crimson Summer Exchange (CSE) 2008 held on the campus of The University of Hong Kong (HKU).
CSE is in its 4th year of operation. It is jointly organized by the Crimson China Cultural Exchange Foundation (CCCEF) and HKU, and co-organised by the Zhejiang University (ZJU) in Hangzhou, China.
CSE was founded by alumni from the three world-class universities. By bringing Teaching Fellows from top-notch western universities to work with, mentor and teach secondary school students in the East, the programme has been helping to create dialogue between the West and the East.
The theme of CSE 2008 is "Inspiring the Next Generation: Building A Sustainable Global Community". A Closing Ceremony is to be held tomorrow to conclude the rich two-week learning experiences.
