HKU appoints interim Vice-President (Academic Staffing and Resources)

The Council of the University of Hong Kong has at its meeting on January 26 (Tuesday) approved the appointment of Professor Terry Au as the interim Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Staffing and Resources) (VP & PVC (ASR)) with immediate effect until the arrival of the new VP & PVC (ASR).

Professor Au joined the University in July 2002 as Chair of Psychology and was appointed as Head of the Department of Psychology from 2003-2005 and 2007-2008.  She has wide experience in human resources management in the University and will assist the Provost in discharging duties in relation to staffing and resources.

During this period, the University will continue its search for the substantive new VP & PVC (ASR).  A Search Committee has been formed to undergo a worldwide search of candidates.
