DESK is a computer forensic software which has been developed by the Centre for Information Security and Cryptography of the Department of Computer Science and Information at the University of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Police Force initiated this project and was also involved in the development of the software. DESK can effectively help the Hong Kong Police Force to beat computer crime.
The ceremony will be officiated by Mr. Yam Tat-wing, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Hong Kong Police Force and Professor Victor Li, Managing Director, Versitech Ltd, a commercial arm of HKU. There will be a demonstration of the software at the ceremony. Reporters/Photographers are cordially invited to attend the ceremony. Details are as follows:

The University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Police Force are to hold a launching ceremony of Digital Evidence Search Kit (DESK) on Wednesday, December 5, 2001.
