Students wish to be considered under the scheme must have obtained 7 or more Grade As in HKCEE. During the selection process, consideration will be given to, in addition to the academic results of students, also their leadership skills, organizational ability, extra-curricular activities, etc.
Although students admitted under this scheme might be required by the programme concerned to take extra credit units, they are not expected to spend one additional year in the University.
HKU has discussed this issue of admitting students from Form Six in the past 2 years, and sought views of the schools councils last year. Now with the "green light" from the Government, the University has decided to proceed to introduce the scheme.
HKU will announce the detailed arrangement of this scheme to schools and students in due course.
