The opening ceremony of the Centre will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2002. We are honored to have Dr. Chi Hung Leong, Chairman of Hospital Authority to be our officiating guest.
The Ceremony is followed by a distinguished lecture by Dr David Spiegel. Dr. David Spiegel is Associate Chair of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and his lecture is titled “Mind Matters: Evidenced-based psychosocial intervention for patients with cancer”. He is the first to scientifically demonstrate that a structured supportive/expressive group psychotherapy significantly enhances survival time for cancer patients.

The Centre on Behavioral Health, supported by the University Development Fund, has been established since April 2002. The Centre thrives toward the integration of East-West health practices through education, clinical service, and evidence-based research within the context of a holistic body-mind-spirit health model. The Centre aims to promote and improve the mental, emotional and behavioral welfare of the community of Hong Kong.
