This year, a total of 1420 submissions from 45 countries were received, an increase of 30% from 2003. These papers came from universities, research labs, and companies around the world, covering all aspects of the communications and networking research; again demonstrating the profound impact that INFOCOM has on the state-of-the-art research in communication networks world wide. After a rigorous selection process, only 261 of the 1420 submissions have been selected to be presented in the conference.

International Conference on Telecommunication and Networking to be Held First Time in Hong Kong

The 23rd Annual IEEE INFOCOM will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 7 – 11, 2004. This is the first time the international conference on telecommunications and networking is held in China, and also the second time in Asia. Several hundred experts are expected from around the world. Sponsors of the Conference include China Motion, PCCW, 3 HK (Hutchison), Microsoft Research, and E-Next. Professor Victor O K Li, Chair of Information Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Hong Kong, is the General Chair of this Conference.
