Researchers at the HKU's Faculty of Dentistry will speak on their findings on the periodontal diseases and their relation to general health at a press briefing this Sunday (January 9th). Details of the press briefing as follows:

HKU's Faculty of Dentistry to Release Research Findings on Periodontal medicine in Hong Kong

Current research at the HKU's Faculty of Dentistry has indicated a link between periodontal diseases and general health. Whereas smoking and diabetes are established risk factors for periodontal diseases, periodontal diseases may put individuals at increased risk for health problems such as rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes.
