The Department would like to clarify that, because of funding constraints, this innovative website was originally to be piloted only to secondary schools in Hong Kong, for use by teachers with their students. However, with the enormous interest shown in the project by other institutions and members of the public, the Department hopes that the website can be made available to more users in the future. Indeed, we hope that increased funding will be forthcoming, so that we can extend and develop the website project in this way.

English website starts with Secondary Students
13 Apr 2005
The Department of Linguistics is gratified to see that Reachout for English – HKU's new website designed to improve secondary school students' written English – drew an enormously positive response after its launch on March 30th, with over 140 schools registering within the first week. The Department extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended the launch ceremony and to all who have helped make the project such a success.
