HKU takes part in a new private hospital to provide high quality healthcare

The Government announced today (March 13) that, after a bidding exercise, it has granted a site at Wong Chuk Hang to GHK Hospital Limited for building a private hospital, the Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital. The University’s Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine is the sole clinical partner of this venture.
The Hospital aims to provide high quality clinical services, with a transparent fee structure, that are accessible and affordable to the Hong Kong community. It will also focus on the training of healthcare professionals and the advancement of clinical and research excellence.
The Faculty of Medicine will be overseeing the Hospital’s clinical governance, professional standards, appointment of doctors and the training of doctors, nurses and allied healthcare staff of the Hospital.
