The University of Hong Kong Community Vaccination Centre (HKU CVC), located at the historic Loke Yew Hall on HKU’s Main Campus, started operation today, to provide 2,000 BioNTech vaccine doses daily to citizens aged 12 and above.
“We didn’t know how to book online, but there are walk-in quotas here and this arrangement works very well for elderly people like ourselves. We received a lot of help when we were resting after the jab.” said 80-year-olds Mr and Mrs Wu.
"I am pleased with the public turnout. The good response shows that we are serving an urgent need of the community, especially for elderly people," said Professor Ivan Hung, Clinical Professor of HKUMed and Director of the HKU CVC.
The HKU CUV operates from 8am to 8pm from Monday to Sunday. A small number of walk-in quotas will be reserved each day with priority given to senior citizens.
Reservations can be made via the government Covid-19 vaccination booking system.
CVC visitors will be guided to follow a dedicated path to enter Loke Yew Hall.
