In recent years, an increasing number of Chinese enterprises have been ramping up efforts to go abroad, actively expanding into overseas markets and strengthening global presence in a bid to promote high-quality development. Under these circumstances, how can Hong Kong, as a leading international financial centre and a critical link between the Mainland and the global market, leverage its unique advantages to support Chinese enterprises in their overseas endeavours?
Addressing the opportunities and challenges facing Chinese enterprises in their strategy of going abroad, HKU Business School, in collaboration with the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC-ICC), is hosting the HKU Business School Pilot Forum titled “Going Global: Exploring the Growth of Chinese Businesses Overseas” on 20 September 2024 (Friday) at Loke Yew Hall, The University of Hong Kong.
Renowned business leaders and scholars in the fields of globalisation and macroeconomics are invited to the forum to discuss the key topics related to Chinese enterprises going overseas, China's strategic initiatives in opening up new markets, and the crucial role of Hong Kong as a nexus for these dynamic interactions. Two roundtable discussions will also be conducted, exploring how to build Hong Kong as a centre for global supply chain management and develop strategic plans for the city to meet the needs of Chinese enterprises operating overseas.
