The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Civil Service Bureau of HKSAR Government jointly held a government career fair on HKU campus today (September 14).
The 1-day career fair held at the Haking Wong Podium connected university students with various job opportunities within the government sector. It provided a valuable platform for face-to-face interactions with serving officers from 21 government agencies and departments.
This year, government posts at various departments are open for applications early for university students in their third year of study. Attendees not only gained insights into job opportunities across civilian grades, professional grades, and disciplinary services, but also had the chance to submit applications on the spot.
Professor Richard Wong, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samson Tse, Dean of Student Affairs, HKU and Mrs Ingrid Yeung, Secretary for the Civil Service officiated at the event, which marked one of the activities to kick off the career fair season of the University.
Professor Samson Tse, Dean of Student Affairs, is thrilled to announce a series of upcoming career-related activities organised by CEDARS. Students can expect roadshows, recruitment talks, career fairs, industry sharing sessions, and more, featuring a diverse array of reputable companies and organisations, including government jobs, start-ups, and new technologies.
“These highly anticipated events will offer HKU students unparalleled opportunities to explore potential career paths, network with industry professionals, and secure internships and job placements. As platforms for direct engagement with recruiters, they will provide invaluable insights into the current job market, promoting professional growth and development,” said Professor Tse.
