The University of Hong Kong (HKU) 2023 Bachelor’s degree graduates have achieved a stellar 98.8% employment rate, marking the 18th consecutive year of full employment. The average monthly gross salary has also seen a notable increase of 3.4%, reaching HK$31,982.
A total of 3,578 full-time Bachelor’s degree graduates were surveyed, with an 85.7% response rate. Among the employed graduates, 97.1% secured their first job offer before the end of December 2023, and the majority of them (96.8%) are now working in Hong Kong.
In terms of employment sector distribution, Commerce & Industry remains the largest employment sector. The Community, Social & Personal Services sector grew from 21.3% to 23.3%, and the Civil Service sector also increased from 12.5% to 14.4% compared to the previous year.
There was a marginal increase in graduates pursuing further studies, rising from 22.1% to 22.6%.
