HKU Statement in response to media enquiry

A Spokesperson of the University of Hong Kong, in response to media enquiries about the suggestion that 'HKU invited the police "to take over the campus"', says that the University regards this claim as unacceptable.  The University's current campus security operations are not designed for providing security services of extremely high standards. The University therefore could only rely on the professional judgement of the police, trusting that their deployments on campus would be based on their experience and judgement, and the University would cooperate with their decisions.
