The Institute for China and Global Development (ICGD), a multi-disciplinary focal point at the University of Hong Kong, is established to develop innovative research and training programmes on China's economic, social, political and legal transitions and their impact on the rest of the world. The Institute's establishment is particularly timely given China's imminent WTO membership and the national and international implications arising from the further integration of the Chinese and the global economics.
The Hong Kong World Trade Organization (WTO) Resource Center – the first of its kind in Hong Kong, is supported by the WTO with the endorsement of the Hong Kong SAR Government. The Centre, an integral part of the ICGD, is a depository of WTO information and publications. It is set up to promote a better understanding of the world trade regime in Hong Kong and the region. The Centre's collection of material and publications is housed by the University Library of at the University of Hong Kong.
