(Workmen’s Quarters, Elliot Pumping Station and Filters)
Grade 3 Historic Building
The HKU Visitor Centre is housed in the former Workmen's Quarters of Elliot Pumping Station and Filters built in around 1918 – 1919. The building was used as the quarters for Chinese workers and watchmen. This red brick rectangular-shaped building is single-storey high and comprises three rooms. It is now the University's Visitor Centre that features a souvenir corner, a publication and reading area, as well as a gallery for hosting exhibition.
