Lung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre

First built in the 1890s, the site of Lung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre comprises a cluster of revitalised buildings that were formerly the Bungalow and Workmen’s Quarters of West Point Filters. The history of the buildings can be traced back to the construction of Hong Kong’s first reservoir, Pok Fu Lam Reservoir, with the site connected by Pok Fu Lam Conduit to the reservoir. Originally, as part of the adjoining filter beds, the buildings were used as quarters for the watchmen and staff working at the filters. In 2008, these three historic buildings were renovated and converted into the Lung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre. The centre, open to the public for free, hosts exhibitions, ecology tours, green workshops and other activities to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living.
